Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa today encouraged Jones County residents to brings their questions and concerns about the situation with Iraq, Social Security, health care, education, economic development, or any other public policy issue to a town meeting he will host next Saturday morning.

Grassley's hour-long, public meeting will begin at 8:00 a.m., on February 28, in a meeting room of the Lawrence Community Center at 600 East Main Street in Anamosa.

"I encourage all local residents to participate if possible. Representative government is a two-way street. I have a responsibility to travel throughout Iowa and hold meetings to discuss issues. In turn, Iowans need to voice their concerns and ask questions of their elected officials. I am committed to fostering this dialogue and look forward to meeting with the people of Anamosa next weekend," Grassley said.

Keeping in touch, Grassley has conducted a meeting in each of Iowa's 99 counties at least once every year since 1981. Representing Iowans in the U.S. Senate, Grassley is Chairman of the Special Committee on Aging, the Subcommittee on International Trade and the Caucus on International Narcotics Control. He is a senior member of the tax-writing Senate Finance Committee, the Agriculture Committee, the Budget Committee, and the Judiciary Committee.
