Grassley, IRS Commissioner to Attend "Problem Solving Day"


On Monday, January 12, Sen. Chuck Grassley will attend a portion of the Internal Revenue Service's taxpayer "Problem Solving Day" in the Federal Building in Des Moines. According to the IRS, the agency has scheduled this open-to-the-public session to provide taxpayers the opportunity to meet with an IRS representative who can help resolve on-going federal tax problems. At Grassley's urging, IRS Commissioner Charles O. Rossotti will also attend the event in Des Moines. Also in attendance will be Director of the IRS Midwest District, Robert Brazzil.

From 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m., service at Problem Solving Day will be provided by IRS representatives on the fourth floor of the federal building located at 210 Walnut Street. Taxpayers with questions will be directed to the proper locations when they enter the federal building. Grassley, Rossotti and Brazzil will attend Problem Solving Day from 12:15 to 1:00 p.m. (CST). They will be available for questions from the media at 1:00 p.m. in a designated room on the fourth floor.
