Grassley will conduct meetings and visit local schools and businesses as part of his long-time commitment to visit each of Iowa's 99 counties at least once every year. He has done so every year since 1981.
Town meetings are planned for Winterset, Iowa Falls, Garner, Northwood, Albia, Calmar, Postville, Elkader, Maquoketa, Columbus Junction, and Winfield, and are open to the public. Grassley said all area residents are invited and encouraged to bring their questions and comments about the homeland security, Medicare and prescription drugs, agriculture, pension reform, or any other issue they'd like to talk about.
"I've held meetings in each of Iowa's 99 counties every year that I've been in the Senate because a dialogue between members of Congress and the people they serve is fundamental to representative government," Grassley said. "I look forward to talking with as many Iowans as possible about the issues that concern them. Input from Iowans is very important to my work for them in Washington."
Information about Grassley's meetings in Iowa follows. He will be available for 15 minutes after each of these scheduled events to respond to questions from local reporters. Meetings marked with a * indicate that the meetings are open to the public and all citizens are invited to attend.
