WASHINGTON- Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Rural Development has awarded a $2,893,000 loan and $993,000 grant to Xenia Rural Water District in Bouton through the Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant program.
The funds will be used to finance the construction of 97 miles of pipeline to serve 150 users in northeast Calhoun and western Webster counties.
“The construction of necessary facilities is important in rural
Iowa . This funding will help better serve the residents of both Calhoun and Webster counties,” Grassley said.
The Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant program provides funding to develop water and waste disposal, including solid waste disposal and storm drainage, systems in rural areas and towns with a population not in excess of 10,000.
