On Tuesday, May 7, at 8:45 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will meet with two Iowa winners of the Prudential Spirit of Community awards. The winners are from West Des Moines and Red Oak. On Tuesday, May 7, at 10 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will testify before a joint hearing of the House Committee on Oversight & Government Reform Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Job Creation, and Regulatory Affairs and the House Committee on the Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice regarding the “Department of Justice’s Quid Pro Quo with St. Paul (Minnesota): A Whistleblower’s Perspective.” Senator Grassley conducted a joint investigation into the quid pro quo with the House committees. The congressional investigation examined a deal made with the city of St. Paul, Minnesota, in exchange for dropping a certain Supreme Court case on housing discrimination. Senator Grassley is a long-time and steadfast advocate for whistleblowers through enforcement of laws he has authored, advocacy for additional legislative reforms and protective measures, and oversight of the executive branch of government. The deal in question directly impacts changes Senator Grassley sought to the False Claims Act to help make sure whistleblower cases are heard in court.
On Tuesday, May 7, at 3:45 p.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will meet with civic leaders from Ames who have traveled to Washington to discuss economic development initiatives and policy issues.
On Wednesday, May 8, at 10:30 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will have a Q&A session via Skype with the government class at Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids.

Campbell-Smith to be a Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims, William H. Pryor, Jr. to be a Member of the United States Sentencing Commission, and Rachel Elise Barkow to be a Member of the United States Sentencing Commission.
