Washington – Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley of Iowa announced today that the hearing for Attorney General nominee Loretta Lynch will be held on Jan. 28 and 29.

The first day will consist of opening statements from the Chairman and Ranking Member, an opening statement from the nominee, and questions by committee members.  The second day will feature outside witnesses invited by both the majority and the minority.

“I look forward to hearing from Ms. Lynch in a couple weeks.  She’ll receive a fair, but thorough, hearing from the Judiciary Committee, and I expect that she’ll be forthright in return.   It will be a long first day, because my approach as Chairman is to allow for as many questions as necessary to ensure that members have a chance to receive answers in person if they’d like,” Grassley said.

Members of the media who wish to attend the hearing should contact the Senate media galleries for credentials.
