Grassley Statement on Attack Against Jewish Community in California
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa made the following statement in response to the tragic attack at the Congregation Chabad synagogue in California.
“Every American is entitled to worship, believe and live by their faith. That freedom was fundamental to our country’s founding and remains fundamental today. The anti-Semitic attack against a California synagogue is reprehensible and utterly un-American.
“There is no room for this type of extremism anywhere, especially in the United States where religious freedom is an integral tenet of our history. On the left, on the right and anywhere in-between this violence and hate ought to be condemned.
“The Jewish community in California, in my home state of Iowa and across the country are part of our national family and in my prayers.”
