Grassley Statement on the Confirmation of Iowan C.J. Williams

WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, released the following statement on the confirmation of C.J. Williams to serve as a District Judge on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa.

“Judge Williams is highly qualified to serve in this lifetime appointment. His commitment to the law as written and impartiality to those who have come before him will make him an excellent addition to the court,” Grassley said. “Judge Williams is widely respected across the political spectrum. His legal expertise, including extensive courtroom and academic experience, will serve him well in this new role.”

Williams fills the federal judgeship that was left vacant when Judge Linda R. Reade, of Cedar Rapids, took senior status last fall.
