COUNCIL BLUFFS, IOWA -- Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) will?host his fourth Federal Judiciary Youth Summit for high school juniors and seniors on Friday, May 12, from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. CT at the Council Bluffs Federal Courthouse. Thirty-eight high schools from the Southern District of Iowa are invited to participate in the program.??

WHAT: Grassley will host fourth?Federal Judiciary Youth Summit and the Honorable Chief Judge Stephanie Rose will speak on her involvement in the federal judiciary system

Grassley, a senior member of the Senate Judiciary Committee will host the Federal Judiciary Youth Summit as part of his longstanding effort to engage Iowans in our system of representative government, uphold the separation of powers and foster participation in civic life. Grassley and Rose will give high school students and educators a glimpse into the daily workings of the federal justice system. 

 

Each high school is invited to bring two juniors or seniors, accompanied by one teacher. Student selection is up to the discretion of the school. There is no registration fee and transportation is solely the responsibility of the school. 

 

Schools must confirm attendance to judiciaryyouthsummit@grassley.senate.gov by Wednesday, April 12, 2023. Following the RSVP, an information form will be sent to participating students and teachers and will be due on May 1, 2023. 

 

Grassley will be available for 15 minutes after the meeting to answer questions from local media about?the Federal Judiciary Youth Summit.?Members of the media who wish to attend the media availability must RSVP directly?to maya_hall@grassley.senate.gov
