Senator Grassley will be a guest on public affairs programs hosted by Maxine Sieleman on PRAISE 940 in Des Moines and Ryan Schlader on WMT in Cedar Rapids.
  
On Tuesday, January 14, at 2:30 p.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will participate in a Judiciary Committee hearing, “Hearing on the Report of the President’s Review Group on Intelligence and Communications Technologies.”

On Wednesday, January 15, at 10 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will participate in a Finance Committee hearing on the nomination of R. Gil Kerlikowske to be Department of Homeland Security Commissioner of Customs. 
 
On Wednesday, January 15, at 3 p.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will participate in a Drug Caucus hearing on the “Future of U.S. Counternarcotics Efforts in Afghanistan.”  The illegal drug trade is a contributing factor to many of the major challenges facing Afghanistan.  Drug trafficking funds the Taliban, increases corruption and poses a serious public health challenge.  The hearing will examine how the United States can sustain and improve counternarcotics efforts in Afghanistan as its military presence declines in 2014.
 
On Thursday, January16, at 10 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will participate in the weekly executive business meeting of the Senate Judiciary Committee.  The committee may consider the nominations of Carolyn B.
