Senator Grassley will meet with Iowans in Washington, D.C., from the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs, the Hungry Canyons Alliance, Conservation Districts of Iowa, the Pella Chamber of Commerce, students from the U.S. Department of Education TRIO Programs, the Iowa Association of Regional Councils, Americans for the Arts, the American Psychiatric Association, the American Legion-Department of Iowa, the Iowa Bankers Association, the city of Waukee, the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians, the Fort Dodge Chamber of Commerce, the American Hospital Association, Iowa Farm Bureau, the Iowa Community Action Association, International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators, and Iowa Small Business Development Centers.
Senator Grassley will meet with Iowa families from Waukee, Cedar Rapids, Osceola, Wellman, Newton and Cedar Falls.
Senator Grassley will be a guest on public affairs programs hosted by Bryan Nichols and Sean Secrease on WTAD in Quincy and Sally Hart on KCII in Mt. Pleasant.
On Tuesday, March 25, at 11 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will attend the Norman Borlaug Statue Unveiling Ceremony. Borlaug’s statue will join the statue of Samuel Kirkwood as Iowa’s honorees to the National Statuary Hall Collection. The day also marks the 100th anniversary of Borlaug’s birth and National Ag Day. On Tuesday, March 25, at 2:15 p.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will speak to the Agriculture Future of America Students, who are visiting Washington, D.C., for the AFA Policy Institute.
On Wednesday, March 26, at 10 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will participate in a Judiciary Committee hearing on “Reauthorization of the Satellite Television Extension and Localism Act.”
On Wednesday, March 26, at 2:30 p.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will participate in a Drug Caucus hearing on “Heroin and Prescription Drug Use.”
On Wednesday, March 26, at 5:30 p.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will attend a members-only briefing on Syria.
On Thursday, March 13, at 10 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will participate in the weekly executive business meeting of the Senate Judiciary Committee. The committee may consider the nominations of Gregg Jeffrey Costa to be United States Circuit Judge for the Fifth Circuit, Cheryl Ann Krause to be United States Circuit Judge for the Third Circuit, Tanya S. Chutkan to be United States District Judge for the District of Columbia, M. Hannah Lauck to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Virginia, Leo T. Sorokin to be United States District Judge for the District of Massachusetts, Richard Franklin Boulware II to be United States District Judge for the District of Nevada, Salvador Mendoza, Jr. to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Washington, Staci Michelle Yandle to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of Illinois, John Charles Cruden to be an Assistant Attorney General, and Leon Rodriguez to be Director of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, Department of Homeland Security.
