Here is information about Senator Grassley’s schedule this week. The Senate is in session.
Senator Grassley has met with Iowans in Washington, D.C., from the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering and Safe States Alliance and will meet with Iowans in Washington, D.C., from the Pella Chamber of Commerce, the Iowa Soybean Association, Iowa TRiO, Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division, Leading Age, the American Society of Agronomy, the Crop Science Society of America, the Soil Science Society of America, the Institute of Scrap Recycling, Mississippi River Cities and Towns Initiative, Conservation Districts of Iowa, the Iowa Society of Respiratory Care, the Special Olympics of Iowa, the Iowa Council on Foundations, the University of Iowa, the Iowa Primary Care Association, the Society of Women Engineers, and the Iowa Hospital Association.
Senator Grassley will meet with Iowa families from Ames, Story City, Polk City, Waukee, Newton, Olewein, Rock Valley, Bettendorf, Pella, and Hull.
Senator Grassley met with Iowa students from South Hardin Middle School in Hubbard, St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Waverly, and Waukee Middle Schools and will meet with Iowa students from Des Moines Central Campus, Lone Tree High School, and Close Up students from Des Moines.
Senator Grassley was a guest on public affairs programs hosted by Trent Rice on KASI in Ames and Sean Secrease and Quaid on WTAD in Quincy and will be a guest on public affairs programs hosted by Sally Hart on KCII in Washington, Doug Wagner on WMT in Cedar Rapids, Greg Haubrich on WGEM in Quincy, and Jim Turbes on KWBG in Boone.
On Tuesday, March 17, at 10 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will preside over a Judiciary Committee hearing on “Immigration Reforms Needed to Protect Skilled American Workers.”
On Tuesday, March 17, at 2 p.m. (ET), Senator Grassley and Senator Ernst will host a Constituent Coffee for Iowans visiting Washington D.C. More information can be found here.
On Tuesday, March 17, at 5 p.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will attend a reception hosted by Agri-Pulse celebrating National Ag Day. This week is National Ag Week and March 18, 2015, is National Ag Day. National Ag Day, organized by the Agriculture Council of America, recognizes and celebrates the contribution of agriculture in our daily lives. More information can be found here.
On Wednesday, March 18, at 10 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will preside over a Judiciary Committee hearing on “The Impact of Abusive Patent Litigation Practices on the American Economy.” Two Iowa witnesses will testify at the hearing. Brad Powers, of Williamsburg, is General Counsel for KINZE Manufacturing, Inc., and Dr. Michael R. Crum, of Ames, is the Vice President for Economic Development and Business Engagement at Iowa State University.
On Wednesday, March 18, at 2:30 p.m. (ET), and Thursday, March 19, at 10:30 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will participate in a Budget Committee mark-up meeting on the “Budget Resolution for Fiscal Year 2016.”
