Senator Grassley will meet with Iowans in Washington, D.C., from the Iowa Health Care Association, the Iowa Rural Letter Carriers’ Association, the Iowa Pharmacy Association, the American Association of Crop Insurers, the American Society for Radiation Oncology, the National Air Traffic Controllers Association, the Iowa Retail Federation, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and the Organic Trade Association.

Senator Grassley will meet with Iowa students visiting Washington, D.C., from Central Campus Des Moines and Clear Creek Amana High School.

On Monday, May 23, 2016, at 2 p.m. (ET), Senator Grassley spoke at a press conference on the Adam Walsh Reauthorization Act.

On Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at 10 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will participate in a Finance Committee Hearing on “Debt versus Equity: Corporate Integration Considerations.”
           
On Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at 11 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will speak at a press conference on the Military Justice Improvement Act, which would set up a better way of handling military sexual assault.
              
On Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at 2:45 p.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will receive the “Hero of Main Street” award from the Iowa Retail Federation for his support of legislation critical to the retail industry. According to the National Retail Federation, the “Heroes of Main Street” awards are given to members of Congress who have made important contributions to the retail industry and have worked to encourage a strong retail sector through legislation. The “heroes” have supported policies and initiatives defined by the federation that recognize the contributions of the retail industry, and have worked to encourage a “vibrant, sustained and healthy” retail sector.

On Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at 4 p.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will meet with community and business leaders from Burlington, West Burlington, Fort Madison, Keokuk and Mount Pleasant.

On Thursday, May 26, 2016, at 10 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will preside over the weekly executive business meeting of the Senate Judiciary Committee. The committee may consider S. 247, the Expatriate Terrorist Act and S. 356, the Electronic Communications Privacy Act Amendments Act of 2015 and the Public Safety Officers’ Benefits Improvement Act.

On Thursday, May 26, 2016, at 10 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will participate in an Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Committee hearing on “A Review of the U.S. Livestock and Poultry Sectors: Marketplace Opportunities and Challenges.”  Grassley recently introduced legislation to ban packer ownership of livestock citing the continued increase in consolidation in the livestock industry.
