Here is information about Senator Grassley’s schedule this week.  The Senate is in session.  
 
Senator Grassley will meet with Iowans in Washington, D.C., from the Huntington’s Disease Society of America, the Prison Fellowship Ministry, the Coalition for Affordable Solar Energy, the Iowa Corn Growers Association, Iowa Farm Bureau, and Innovate Iowa.
 
Senator Grassley will meet with Iowa families from Denver, Sioux Rapids, Waterloo, and Story City.

Senator Grassley will meet with Iowa students visiting Washington, D.C.  Cody Gradert of Ireton was awarded the Young Entrepreneur Award by the National Federation of Independent Business Young Entrepreneur Foundation.  More about the NFIB Young Entrepreneur award can be found here: http://www.nfib.com/foundations/yef/yef-programs/young-entrepreneur-awards/2014-yef-award-winners/.  Ayenna Cagaanan of Fort Dodge and Amy Huynh of Ankeny were selected from Iowa to attend the National Youth Science Camp.  Emily Swope of Joice, a student at Lake Mills High School, is attending the Washington Journalism and Media Conference.  Grassley will also meet with University of Iowa student Zach Wahls who is a White House intern and Truman Scholar.
 
Senator Grassley will be a guest on public affairs programs hosted by Sally Hart on KCII in Washington, Mike Savage on KBUR in Burlington, and Charlie Stone on KSCJ in Sioux City.
 
On Tuesday, July 15, at 10 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will participate in a Judiciary Committee hearing on “S. 1696, The Women’s Health Protection Act:  Removing Barriers to Constitutionally Protected Reproductive Rights.” 

On Wednesday, July 16, at 10 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will participate in a Finance Committee hearing to consider the nomination of Robert W. Holleyman II of Louisiana to be a Deputy United States Trade Representative.

On Wednesday, July 16, at 1:30 p.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will meet with Robert McDonald who is nominated to be Secretary of Veterans Affairs.

On Wednesday, July 16, at 5:30 p.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will attend a members-only briefing regarding the border crisis. Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson, Secretary of Health and Human Services Sylvia Mathews Burwell, Deputy Attorney General James Cole, and Acting Director of the Office of Management and Budget Brian Deese will brief.  

On Thursday, July 17, at 9:30 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will participate in the weekly executive business meeting of the Senate Judiciary Committee.  The committee may consider Pamela Harris to be United States Circuit Judge for the Fourth Circuit, Pamela Pepper to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, Brenda K. Sannes to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of New York, Patricia M. McCarthy to be a Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims, and Jeri Kaylene Somers to be a Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims.

On Thursday, July 17, at 10 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will participate in a Finance Committee hearing on “The Role of Trade and Technology in 21st Century Manufacturing.”
