WASHINGTON – Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) today met with city officials and community and business leaders from the greater Cedar Rapids and Iowa City Corridor to discuss issues important to the region. Specifically, the group discussed infrastructure, workforce, education and other issues. They thanked Grassley for his support of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which provided funding for projects in the corridor, including the replacement of Cedar Rapids’ Arc of Justice Bridge, planning for repairs to Iowa City’s Burlington Street Bridge and needed improvements to the Eastern Iowa Airport. The Eastern Iowa Airport also thanked Grassley for his support of the FAA Reauthorization Act, which will provide additional funds and opportunity for the travel hub.

“I was glad to speak with business and community leaders from the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City Corridor about the issues most important to their communities,” Grassley said “Representative government is a two-way street. Speaking candidly about the challenges and opportunities Iowans experience directly informs my work and helps me better represent our great state.”
