WASHINGTON – On Tuesday, July 23, at 3 p.m. ET, Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) will host a roundtable entitled “Reckless Disregard: How the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)’s Failure to Collect DNA at the Border Endangers Americans.”

The roundtable will examine DHS’s neglect to take or submit illegal immigrants’ DNA samples to FBI databases – a violation of the DNA Fingerprint Act of 2005 – and its retaliation against whistleblowers who lawfully disclosed the issue to Congress. In cases where DHS has collected DNA samples, FBI has identified criminal activity. Event details follow.
