WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded two competitive grants totaling $1,016,580 to the Iowa Department of Public Health and the University of Iowa.
The money will be distributed as shown below.
· The Iowa Department of Public Health will receive $798,644 from the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion to help fund preventive health services.
· The University of Iowa will receive $217,936 from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases to help fund a project titled "Contact Network Epidemiology of Influenza and Other Nosocomial Infections."
