WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today said that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded $1,691,351 to Iowa health facilities.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will distribute the money as shown below, in alphabetical order by town.
• Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic received a $99,884 grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration Division of Grants Management Operations, for small health care provider quality improvement
• The University of Iowa in Iowa City entered into a $1,498,136 cooperative agreement with the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, for clinical research related to neurological disorders
• Pella Regional Health Center in Pella received a $93,331 grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration Division of Grants Management Operations, for small health care provider quality improvement
Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants from the federal government. The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity.
