More Than $100,000 to Iowa from U.S. Department of Health and Human Services

WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded a $130,133 grant to the Iowa Department of Public Health.

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Iowa Department of Public Health will use the money to fund the State of Iowa Office of Minority and Multicultural Health Partnership Initiative.

Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants from the federal government.  The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity administering the funds.
