More Than $2 Million to Iowa State University


WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today said that Iowa State University has received three grants totaling $2,435,120 from the National Science Foundation. 

 

According to the National Science Foundation, the university will use the funds as shown below.

 

• $1,763,769 to fund the project entitled, “A 21st Century Revitalized Research and Research Training Infrastructure for Chemical and Biological Engineering.”

• $521,423 to fund the project entitled, “GSE/RES: Exploring the STEM Gender Gap: Introductory College Mathematics and Statistics Instruction and its Association with Self-Efficacy.”

• $149,928 to fund the project entitled, “EAGER: Collaborative Research: Seamless Integration of Conjoined Cyber-Physical System Properties.”

 

Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants and loans from the federal government.  The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity administering the funds.
