More Than $2.9 Million for the Directors Council in Des Moines

WASHINGTON - Chuck Grassley today said that the U.S. Department of Labor has awarded a $2,916,765 competitive grant to the Directors Council in Des Moines.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the Directors Council will use the money to help ex-prisoners re-enter the community through an employment-centered program incorporating job training, mentoring and other support services.

Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants from the federal government.  The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity.
