Nearly $70,000 to Iowa from The Department of Commerce


WASHINGTON – Chuck Grassley today said that the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration has awarded grants totaling $69,820 to Iowa through the Economic Development District Planning Program. 

 

The Region Six Planning Commission, which serves Hardin, Marshall, Poweshiek and Tama counties, will receive $34,340.  The East Central Intergovernmental Association, which serves Cedar, Clinton, Delaware, Dubuque and Jackson counties, will receive $35,480.

 

According to the Economic Development Administration, Economic Development District Planning investments support the development and implementation of comprehensive development strategies.  The Economic Development Administration serves as a venture capital resource to meet the economic development needs of distressed communities throughout the United States through the promotion of innovation and competitiveness and preparing regions for growth and success in the global economy.
