Presidential Appointment of Jim Moseley

Sen. Chuck Grassley issued the following comment regarding President Bush's appointment today of Indiana farmer Jim Moseley to serve as the Deputy Secretary of USDA.

"I'm glad to see a farmer and Midwesterner nominated by the Bush Administration for deputy secretary at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. It was important to me that the deputy secretary be a farmer from the Midwest with dirt under his or her fingernails. I also wanted someone who reported the majority of income off of Schedule F. Jim Moseley strongly meets these criteria. His experience will be extremely valuable at USDA."
