Following is a statement from Sen. Chuck Grassley in response to today's announcement that the Department of Justice will file suit to block the United Airlines-US Airways merger:
"The Bush administration provided good news for air travelers today. There is now no question that this administration is serious about preventing airline concentration. This decision helps to promote much needed competition in the airline industry. Competition between the airlines, not concentration, will provide air travelers with lower fares, more choices and better service."
