WASHINGTON – Chuck Grassley today said that the Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a contract for a VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Carroll.
The clinic will be located within the St. Anthony’s Regional Hospital at 311 S. Clark St., and is scheduled to open in January 2011.
“This facility will allow veterans in Carroll and the surrounding area to seek outpatient services without the hassle of time-consuming travel,” Grassley said. “This is a crucial step forward in the VA’s effort to modernize its service to our brave men and women in uniform.”
This outpatient clinic is part of a comprehensive plan to modernize the VA’s health care facilities. According to the VA, 80 percent of the health care provided by the VA is outpatient care. Iowa is gaining seven outpatient facilities through the VA’s modernization plans to better serve Iowa veterans.
