January the 9th is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.
Today, as well as every day, we should give our thanks to the nation’s men and women in blue.
I make this practice – whenever I see a police officer, I always try to stop and say two things: I’m not for defunding the police. And I’m proud to back the blue.
Or, I say it another way: thank you for maintaining the peace.
As Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, you can be sure that I’ll continue my work to protect and support law enforcement in both Iowa and nationwide.
The Judiciary Committee always accomplishes issues supporting police in a bipartisan series of bills, most often in the month of May.
To our law enforcement friends, all senators say, ‘Thank you’ for your selfless service.
