WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley announced today that the National Endowment for the Arts has awarded a $10,000 matching grant to the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra.
“These matching grant funds will help provide young musical students in the area the opportunity to hear a talented musician play with the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra,” Grassley said.
The Sioux City Symphony Orchestra will use the funds to help support the opening concert of the 2009-2010 season and a session for about 100 of the area’s aspiring string students with the concert’s guest artist, violinist Sarah Chang.
