$13,805 to Seymour from USDA

WASHINGTON- Chuck Grassley today said that the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Rural Development awarded a $13,805 competitive grant to Seymour through the Community Facilities Grant Program.

“These funds will help improve safety for Seymour residents,” Grassley said.

Seymour will use the money to help purchase a new law enforcement vehicle.

The Community Facilities Grant program provides grants to assist in the development of essential community facilities in rural areas and towns of up to 20,000 in population.

Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants and loans from the federal government.  The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity.
