WASHINGTON - Chuck Grassley today said that Iowa State University has received two competitive grants totaling $1,460,000 from the National Science Foundation.
Iowa State University will use the money as shown below.
•$920,000 to help pay for a project titled, “Uncovering Novel Signaling Interactions in Plant Metabolic Networks.”
•$540,000 to help pay for a project titled, “Collaborative Research: Novel Bicarbonate Transporters in the Chlamydomonas CO2-Concentrating Mechanism.”
Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants and loans from the federal government. The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity.
