WASHINGTON - Senator Chuck Grassley today said that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is releasing $196,980 to Homeward Inc., in Clarion.
The money comes from the Economic Development Initiative Special Project Grants fund which was included in the Consolidated Appropriations Bill for fiscal 2008.
“These federal funds will help provide housing finance opportunities to the residents of north central rural Iowa," Grassley said.
Homeward provides housing finance opportunities to residents of rural counties in north central Iowa. Homeward has previously utilized Economic Development Initiative funds to expand energy efficiency programs. Homeward finances starter homes for young families.
Economic Development Initiative grants provide funds to assist low and middle income residents by supporting housing, community, and economic development activities.
