$21,847 to Iowa Department of Education for Advanced Placement Tests

WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Education has awarded a $21,847 grant to the Iowa Department of Education through the Test Fees program.

“Taking Advanced Placement courses is a great way for students to challenge themselves while getting a jump-start on their college career,” Grassley said.  “These funds will help pay for the testing fees for low-income students who might not otherwise be able to take advantage of this opportunity.”

The Iowa Department of Education will use the money to help pay all or a portion of the fees for Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate tests taken by low-income students. The funds should pay for 428 Advanced Placement tests and 30 International Baccalaureate exams that will be taken this spring.
