$225,405 to the University of Iowa from the National Science Foundation

WASHINGTON - Chuck Grassley today said that the University of Iowa has received a $225,405 competitive grant from the National Science Foundation.

The University of Iowa will use the money to help pay for a GC-TOF Mass Spectrometer capable of carrying out experiments with electron ionization and chemical ionization sources.

Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants and loans from the federal government.  The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity.
