$244,659 to the University of Iowa

WASHINGTON –Chuck Grassley today said that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded a $244,659 competitive grant to the University of Iowa.

The University of Iowa will use the money from the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development for a project entitled, “Integrating the Timescales of Word Learning.”

Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants from the federal government.  The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity.
