WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today said that the U.S. Department of Education has awarded a $251,928 grant to Access for Special Kids Resource Center in Des Moines through the Parent Training and Information Center Program.
"These funds will help ensure children with disabilities education opportunities by providing information and training to parents to help them meet their child's special needs." Grassley said.
Access for Special Kids Resource Center will use the money to provide a comprehensive system of early intervention services, help prepare children with disabilities for postsecondary education, employment, and independent living, and help parents better understand the Individual Education Program process.
The Parent Training and Information Center Program helps provide information and training to parents of children with disabilities.
