$3 Million to Iowa State University from U.S. Department of Justice


            WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today said that the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs has released $3 million to Iowa State University in Ames.  The funds were secured through the regular appropriations process.

 

          "These funds will help improve the criminal justice system by making crime labs more efficient and effective," Grassley said.

 

            Iowa State University will use the money to help the Forensic Science and Evaluation Laboratory of the Midwest Forensic Resource Center to examine, test and evaluate methods for forensic training, forensic analysis, and crime laboratory business information management to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of crime labs.
