WASHINGTON – Chuck Grassley today said that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded a $311,250 competitive grant to the University of Iowa.
The University of Iowa will use the money to help pay for a cancer biology research project entitled, “Cooperative SH2 and SH3 Domain-Mediated Interactions at the Adaptor Protein Grb2.”
Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants from the federal government. The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity.
