WASHINGTON – Chuck Grassley today said that Iowa State University has received a $320,048 competitive grant from the National Science Foundation.
Iowa State will use the money to help pay for a project titled, “Collaborative Research: Large-Scale Nanomanufacturing of Well-Positioned and Highly Aligned DNA Wires from a Capillary Bridge.”
Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants and loans from the federal government. The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity.
