$356,250 to University of Iowa from Department of Education

WASHINGTON – Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Education has awarded a $356,250 grant to the University of Iowa through the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research.

The University of Iowa will use the funding for oral disease and disorders research.

The mission of the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research is to improve oral, dental and craniofacial health through research, research training, and the dissemination of health information.

Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants and loans from the federal government. The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity.
