$434,256 to University of Iowa


WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded two competitive grants totaling $434,256 to the University of Iowa.

           

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will distribute the money as shown below.

 

• $234,812 from the Fogarty International Center for non-communicable diseases research training



• $199,444 from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke for clinical research related to neurological disorders

 

Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants from the federal government.  The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity.
