WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Education has awarded $400,000 in congressionally directed spending to Family, Inc. in Council Bluffs.
Family, Inc. will use the funds to create a national model for early childhood and family support services that provides the community with an integrated and sustainable campus of key services, including home visitation services.
“These funds should give Iowans better access to the support services they need to provide a solid foundation for their families,” Grassley said.
Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for federal funding. The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity administering the funds.
