WASHINGTON - Senator Chuck Grassley today said that Iowa State University and the University of Iowa have received competitive grants totaling $425,250 from the National Science Foundation.
Iowa State will receive $420,000 to fund the project titled, “New Strategy for Controlled Release of Liposomal Contents.”
The University of Iowa will receive $5,250 to help fund the “2010 Midwest Verification Day Workshop.”
Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants and loans from the federal government. The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity.
