$4,535 for Emergency Shelter in Arispe from USDA


WASHINGTON- Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Rural Development has awarded a $4,535 grant to the United Methodist Church of Arispe, the town's emergency shelter, through the Community Facility Grant Program.

 

"These funds will help purchase important emergency equipment to provide greater safety for Arispe residents," Grassley said.

 

The United Methodist Church of Arispe, which serves as the community's designated emergency shelter, will use the money to help purchase an emergency generator.  Union County was declared a Presidential Disaster area for both individual and community assistance.

 

The Community Facility Grant program provides grants to assist in the development of essential community facilities in rural areas and towns of up to 20,000 in population.
