$560,306 to Iowa State University


WASHINGTON - Chuck Grassley today said that Iowa State University has received two competitive grants totaling $560,306 from the National Science Foundation.

 

Iowa State University will use the money as shown below.

 

  • $280,341 to help pay for a project titled, “Modeling the Formation of Self Ordered Nanoporous Anodic Oxides.”

 

  • $279,965 to help pay for a project titled, “High-Resolution Electrical Sensing of Surface Charges and Currents of Living Cells.”

 

Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants and loans from the federal government. The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity.
