$579,000 to the University of Iowa


  

            WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded competitive grants totaling $579,000 to the University of Iowa.

 

The funds will be distributed as shown below.

 

·        The University of Iowa will receive $375,000 from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases to help pay for a diabetes, endocrinology and metabolic research project titled, “Mechanisms of ER stress-induced fatty liver.”

·        The University of Iowa will receive $204,000 from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke to help pay for a neuroscience training program.
