$585,000 to University of Iowa


  

            WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded two grants totaling $585,000 to the University of Iowa.

 

           The University of Iowa will use the money as listed below.

 

·         $360,000 from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases to help fund a diabetes, endocrinology and metabolic research project titled “Redox Mechanisms of Ischemia Reperfusion Injury in the Liver.”

·         $225,000 from the National Institute of Mental Health to help fund a project titled, “Direct MRI Mapping of Neuronal Magnetic Fields in the Human Brain.”
