$780,257 to Iowa Department of Education for Data Systems Program

WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Education has awarded a $780,257 grant to the Iowa Department of Education through the Statewide Data Systems program.

“These funds will help the Iowa Department of Education implement the data systems needed to accurately analyze student information consistent with the Elementary and Secondary Education Act,” Grassley said.

The Iowa Department of Education will use the money to help implement a comprehensive, accurate and timely statewide longitudinal data system, which should generate a unified infrastructure for educational data, establish interconnectivity between entities for analysis and planning, and develop a PK-20 system for tracking individuals throughout their education.
