WASHINGTON - Senator Chuck Grassley today said that Iowa State University has received two competitive grants totaling $800,000 from the National Science Foundation.
Iowa State University will use the money as show below.
•$400,000 to help pay for a project titled, “CAREER: Bio-inspired MEMS imaging platform with ultrawide, dynamically tunable field-of-view for biomedical and assistive applications.”
• $400,000 to help pay for a project titled, “CAREER: Programmable, reconfigurable, and tunable photonic integrated circuit platform through the fusion of photonic crystals and nano-electro-mechanical systems.”
Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants and loans from the federal government. The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity.
