WASHINGTON – Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) met with Jill Glenn, Amanda Petersen and Kara Johns of Fredericksburg Elementary School during their visit to Washington, D.C. They will attend the National Blue Ribbon School Ceremony hosted by the Department of Education where they will receive their award. Mrs. Barbara Grassley will attend the ceremony, as she is a graduate of Fredericksburg Elementary.
“I enjoyed visiting with Jill, Amanda and Kara from Fredericksburg Elementary. I’d like to congratulate them on being named a 2019 National Blue Ribbon School. It’s an enormous accomplishment that requires commitment from staff, students and families. Educators have the ability to make a lasting impact on their students, and I’m proud to see a school and community from Iowa come together and be recognized for their hard work,” Grassley said.
Grassley makes it a priority to meet with Iowans visiting Washington, D.C., in addition to events in Iowa, including his annual visits to each of the 99 counties. While in the nation’s capital, Grassley sets aside at least two hours each day to meet with Iowans. He encourages Iowans to write him or visit one of his offices regarding questions or concerns they have with the federal government. Meetings can be scheduled with Grassley at
