Grassley: $100,000 to the Crescent Community Health Center

WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded a grant of $100,000 to the Crescent Community Health Center in Dubuque.

“Community health centers are important because they provide primary and preventive health care services to medically under-served areas,” Grassley said. “It’s nice to see Dubuque residents benefit from these valuable services.”

Grassley co-sponsored The Health Centers Renewal Act of 2007, which reauthorized the health centers program for another five years and strengthened and expanded health centers in order to care for nearly 30 million patients. Many Iowa communities have benefitted from federal support of health centers, and other communities are looking to start new centers, according to Grassley.

The Crescent Community Health Center will use the funds to help provide health care and necessary facilities.
