Grassley: $160,000 to Ames from the U.S. Department of Transportation


  

WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley announced today that the U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded a grant of $160,000 to Ames .


 

            “This grant will benefit the residents of

Ames and help provide options to address the transit problems in the corridor,” Grassley said.


 

           

Ames will use the grant funds to conduct an alternatives analysis study in the Ames – Iowa State University Corridor. The corridor is currently served by the CyRide Orange line bus service. The current service is over capacity serving more than 10,000 passengers per day. The study will look at a variety of transit solutions, including Bus Rapid transit.
